Ron Peat is a northern California artist with an M.A. degree from Humboldt State University and an M.F.A. degree from East Texas State University. The focus of his work for the past 25 years has been concerned with images and patterns within a grid structure which he has fabricated into three dimensions and divided into multiple canvases on occasion. He tends to use a lot of personal and dream like or symbolic imagery in his paintings and drawings. He currently uses acrylic paints, but has used oils, water color and gouache in the past. He is concerned with a highly activated and charged surface with multiple structures, systems, and networks. He has works in permanent collections at San Francisco State University, Sacramento State University and East Texas State University in addition to works in private collections. Ron's work has been featured in dozens of art shows and exibitions in California from 1965 to the present.
